I have always been a huge fan of the design consultant Bodo Sperlein particularly their elegant contemporary porcelain.

A collaboration with the well known traditional spanish figurine manufacturer Lladro would seem an unusual combination but it has produced some truly beautiful pieces.I particularly love the stunning lighting and very very cute jewellery.

This is really totally amazing!!
I have recently discovered the incredible work of Andy Paiko through the post I did on D.L and Co and their candles. Andy had worked on a blown glass Absinthe fountain (every home should have one!!) in collaboration with them.
He works from Portland Oregon and what I love is the way his work seems to be quite traditional in its form at first glance but as you look again you will see unexpected details like the etched skull and cross bones on the fountain below.
Do look at his website for even more incredible pieces.

I wasn’t going to post anything about christmas for a good few weeks but when I saw these Jonathan Adler decorations I couldn’t wait!
I love his quirky retro style ceramics and have had a gap on my bookshelves for months that is crying out for one of his pieces.Alas the economic climate in my purse is decidedly chilly at the moment so it will have to wait.
These Christmas decorations on the other hand are a different story….I love them and they are within my budget too….Hoorah!!

I just love these gorgeous new limited edition diaries from elegant stationers Smythson.
Designed by cult designer Erdem and engraved and printed onto soft goatskin they make the passing of another year a lot less painful! ….except for the price tag £150-£220!

There I was innocently browsing my way through Liberty’s web site selflessly searching for lovely christmas present ideas when I came across the most amazing candles I think i have ever seen!!! I WANT ONE!

(snake not included!)

They come courtesy of D.L and Co and are based in L.A which is not surprising given how glamorous they are.The brain child of Douglas little who describes himself as a modern alchemist and purveyor of curious goods!
They also produce beautiful stationary and show stopping accessories for the home.

Check out the website for some beautiful gift ideas.

I must be the last person to post a blog on the exciting arrival of Anthropologie to London but better late than never!
For anyone who has seen the shop in America it is a very exciting arrival and I will be making a special trip to London to get inspiration from this fabulous lifestyle mecca.
I have spent many contented evenings browsing their website mentally spending a small fortune and regularly get so many new ideas from the amazing eclectic collections they have.
Until I can report back with my over excited musings from the shop floor here is small selection of images from the opening of the store on Regents Street.

I have just got back from Spain where naturally I made my way very quickly to Zara Home with all its fabulous goodies. They always get it absolutely right with the perfect mix of modern and luxurious accessories for the home.I particularly loved the aubergine set below as I am having a bit of a purple craze at the moment having just taken delivery of some gorgeous silk ikat fabric from Uzbekistan in shades of purple, navy and red.

Here is some more purple inspiration.

- picture courtesyof designwonderland.net
This striking fabric is by textile company Donghia and is based on traditional suzani textiles from Central asia.
I just love the mix of colours.
This purple craze may well continue for a while as I am going to start a new cushion/print design for the winter using natural linen and aubergine. Will keep you posted!
